Poof! There Goes John Kerry, A Better America Has Evaporated

John Kerry, the 2004 presidential candidate, along with his policies for a better America has apparently evaporated.

Surely, any person able to gather the second most votes in a U.S. President election must have worthwhile ideas to be considered.  If John Kerry and his Democratic Party were planning to institute important changes and policies for America, why has this movement ground to a halt and fallen on deaf ears in the Bush administration?

Where important issues concerning our prolific pollution or fuel dependency have been raised, for example, why have these issues not been pursued and corrected by the current political party in office?

When a person speaks of worthy actions to be taken, it does not matter whether they are Democrat or Republican—they are still worthy actions to be taken.

Michael Jackson: Superstar to the Perverts

Michael Jackson, superstar child singer turned adult pervert, has once again captured our attention. More important than the specifics of which child he showed pornography to or masturbated in front of is why such a beast would be elevated to a position of worship.

The following is the typical reasoning behind our devotions to Hollywood figures: We give up our energy to our Hollywood idols through handing over our spare change for their music which drifts us into an emotional trance away from our problems.

We worship the singer, or any powerful figure, as a god because they provide the continuous stream of distraction that we desperately seek. By pumping Hollywood figures up into this godlike status they serve therefore as an authority on acceptable behavior because a god can do no wrong.

Once their horrible deeds are found out, and even punished, the message is already sent that it is acceptable to be a pedophile, or to beat your wife, or whatever other actions the god reveals to his beholden masses.

That is why the sky fell in on the whole world when Billy Clinton had an intern lick his penis. A United States President—a leader of the world and a married man—whom we all looked up to as a person of the highest standards, brought the higher aspirations in life to a standstill when he also became a superstar to the perverts.

The moral machinery of the world started grinding again, but in reverse, when the whole disgusting event was chalked up and justified that "what a man does in his personal life does not matter," and "we all make mistakes".

Tossed Butts of Cigarettes and Women, The Abortive Mindset

Particularly disturbing about abortion is how it has become the ultimate example of the throwaway society. From tossed cigarette butts and bursting landfills to casual sexual flings, this trend of discarding reveals a fundamental lack of meaning in our lives.

Once this throwaway mentality causes a problem, whether it be a filthy landscape or an unwanted child, we try to fix it, thereby resetting the stage for the next problem to occur and fix.

As a butt goes flying from your fingertips or a woman's butt leaves your bedroom, you feel you have extracted their worth and they now seem useless. Yet the true worth of breathing clean air or loving another human being spiritually is always there for us to recognize.

And when a woman becomes pregnant, this new meaning cannot be reduced to our old perceptions of lack of meaning. This recognition of "otherness" expands our perception to see the world as it is, to come out of the cave as Plato says.
