It seemed reasonable enough, a bit of long overdue wording to be tacked on to the United States Constitution:

“Marriage in the United States shall consist solely of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.“

However, the proper wording, to more fully prevent counterfeit unions, should have read somewhere along the lines of:

Section 1: Marriage in the United States, whether entered into within or outside of the United States, shall consist only of the legal union of one man and one woman. Every person has the right to marry a person of the opposite sex, subject to state laws based on age and consanguinity. Neither the United States nor any State, or subdivision thereof, shall confer any benefit, protection, right, or responsibility of marriage on unmarried couples, or groups.

Section 2: This article shall be self-executing, and citizens of the United States shall have standing to seek enforcement of this article in federal and state courts.

Section 3. Upon approval by Congress, this amendment shall be ratified if approved by convention in three-quarters of the states within a period not to exceed four years.

In any case, the Senate roll call on the failure to pass of the Federal Marriage Amendment cried out like a who’s who of “Girlie Men” (a term Governor Schwarzenegger characterized California politicians with).

As for “Nay” voting Republican and honored war veteran John McCain, tortured for significant time in a dank Vietnam dungeon—what freedoms had this man been fighting for? The freedom for a boy to lay down with another boy?

Further shaming us is noticing at the bottom of the roll call that the Democratic presidential candidates Kerry-Edwards did not vote on this crucial issue.

Known for their fighting prowess, the Philippines have caved in to terrorist demands and withdrawn their troops from Iraq. The Philippines had planned to remove their troops by August 20, but said it would withdraw them early because of the kidnapping.

This all falls on deaf ears of course, because by blaming the virus itself and banging about our cymbals for a drug cure, once the cure is discovered we can live longer, wronger.

President George Bush snubbed a speaking opportunity before the highly esteemed NAACP on his campaign trail. Voices are crying out for his resignation, claiming he is racist.

But the NAACP and other black leadership like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton actively work towards treating minorities as victims who require special treatment to succeed and who are defined by skin color rather than individual merit and achievement.

The U.S Senate has shown their complete lack of leadership in voting down the Marriage Amendment to the Constitution. To not hold up and codify the sacred institution of marriage as between a man and a woman is incredulous. Those senators voting “Nay” are a disgrace to the pillars of community and good values and should be summarily tarred, feathered, and marched out of town.

What kind of people are voting for these senators, who would validate sexual fixations and corrupted forms of love over the proper understanding of marriage as a man and woman respectfully together with child?

Not one state voted in favor of gay marriage, forty-two states have specifically passed legislation defining marriage as between a man and a woman, yet four liberal judges in Massachusetts demand the rape spread across the land as gay marriage is forced upon a people unwilling…. Saddam Hussein brilliantly carried out a “weeding” program among his governmental officials when he came to power. He gathered them all in an amphitheater and called out names one by one who he claimed were traitors of the State of Iraq. Everyone knew these handpicked fellows wouldn’t last long, until their flesh melted away in a pot of boiling oil.

Soon enough he had the entire room weeping in despair and fear, and Saddam knew then he had those poor buggers who remained traumatized and conditioned for the length of his stay as dictator.

A similar “weeding” program should be initiated against the dissenting U.S. Senators on the Marriage Amendment, but there would be good reasoning for their dismissal and less drastic consequences. On such an absolutely fundamental issue it is plain to see who showed true leadership that “Yea” or “Nay” day.

And call in Barney Frank and Tammy Baldwin from the Representatives for a brisk ten lashes with a sturdy timber followed by an exile from U.S. territory, after being tarred and feathered.
